Being a guide is not being just an ambassador of our country, but being a human, sensitive especially to the social groups in need. That's why The Association of Licensed Tourist Guides, Athens-Greece participates, when there is the opportunity, in projects, where we can help our fellow men!

Such an act took place beginning of February, where colleagues - guides were put to be for an hour a salesman! But not a salesman in a shopping center or a shop... They became these sales people that get unnoticed for different reasons.

Even though these sales people are on crossroads and stand silent there, waiting patiently for us, that pass fast by and don't notice what is around us. These ones wear a distinguishing red jacket to draw our attention so they can sell a magazine. Part of the money they take it for themselves to live decently.

The name of the magazine is Shedia (raft), the only greek street magazine, with interesting articles of different topics and of pure social aspects!

Under the website www.shedia.gr you can find out more about it and you can read about the lives of the sales people.

This idea had the purpose to point put these people, to bring them to the light, to hug them and bring a big smile in their face!

The participation brought an internal change, because it made us more sensitive about these people, the society and the problems.

We would like to warmly thank our colleagues that participated and became sales people for one hour. They did it with a big smile and they tried to contribute something to this project and help homeless people!

Thank you all!

PS: Don't forget next time you see a red jacket salesman of Shedia stop, smile, greet him/her and buy one magazine.
