After two days excursion in Thessaly we took off with lots of memories and drove to the North.

The next destination was Veroia. We reached the town through the scenic drive of the Tempi valley and later passing the Mountain of the Gods Olympus (left) and the Aegean sea on our right side.

The Association of Licensed Tourist Guides, Athens-Greece 's excursion (11-15 March 2023)

As part of the lifelong learning the Association of Licensed tourist guides -Athens organises an educative annual excursion. After three years we made it and it was from the 11th until the 15th of March.

Volunteering is an important part of the role of guide, not only as part of the profession but as a human being as well. The Association of Licensed Tourist Guides, Athens-Greece had the pleasure to fulfil the request of The HOME Project by offering a guided tour to children- refugees.

February was a busy month for the guides' life long learning with the annual seminar, but with "fieldtrips". 

On the 18th of February took place the excursion to Eleusis. It is a suburban city in the West Attica regional unit of Greece and is located in the Thriasio Plain, at the northernmost end of the Saronic Gulf.

This year we broke our record in participation with 550 people and shows us that it had become a tradition and a habit this pursuit of knowledge.

Part of Life Long Education is the annual Educational Seminar, organized by The Association of Licensed Tourist Guides,Athens-Greece.

From the 14th until the 16th of February 2023 the 42nd Educational Seminar of Licensed tourist guides took place  in the familiar premises of the Athens War Museum.

"A TOURIST GUIDE is a person who guides visitors in the language of their choice and interprets the cultural and natural heritage of an area which person normally possesses an area-specific qualification usually issued and/or recognised by the appropriate authority."

The winter is the time for the guides to relax, reorganize them selves, but also to enrich their knowledge. For these reasons the Association of Licensed Tourist Guides Athens organizes visits and excursions according to their needs and interests.

The Association of Licenced Tourist Guides, Athens together with the Volunteer Center of Ukrainian Communities and Greek Supporter "OPORA" organised a number of volunteer guided tours for children- refugees from Ukraine. They visited archaeological sites museums as a sign of support to the Ukrainians that found shelter in Greece during the war.
